Situated just on the north of Kuta and Legian, Seminyak has a more up market profile than Kuta with high-end shopping, combined with the clustering of many fashionable fine eating establishments and luxury accommodation. Seminyak is also the center of classy spa and boutique shopping of Bali. Seminyak offers a more laid-back ambiance than Kuta with quieter beach during the day but provides a livelier nuance than Ubud at night.
Seminyak is excellence for those who want to spend their holiday in style, with many options of luxury hotel and villas, Bali’s best restaurant and café, vibrant nightlife and the only place you can find arguably Bali’s best spa and boutique shops. But that not all Seminyak has to offer, the gorgeous black sand beach of Petitenget with its stunningly beautiful sunset teemed with the pretty and sacred Petitenget temple where you can find spectacular ceremony every 210 days.

Metis, Jl Petitenget No6, ☎ +62 361 737888 (info@metisbali.com), Opened in October 2009, this is Bali’s most significant new restaurant for many years. After 10 years as Bali’s top French restaurant, Warisan has closed and the management team from there have opened Metis which is intended to fill the same market niche. Only time will tell if they can create a formula which works as well as Warisan did, but the early omens are good. Located at the Kerobokan end of Jalan Petitenget with ample parking. About Rp 1,000,000 per head.

Specialise in fish and other seafood prepared with a Mediterranean ethic. Intimate restaurant with an innovative all bamboo design and clear views over the rice paddies. Mains Rp 100,000 to 150,0000.
Sarong, Jl Petitenget No19x, ☎ +62 361 737809 (info@sarongbali.com), A hugely successful addition to Seminyak’s hip restaurant and bar scene. Original takes on Asian street and country food in a very chic 5 star setting. If you want to be ‘in with the Seminyak in-crowd’, you have found the right place.
